LEAN based Artificial Resource Intelligence decision Support System Applied to food chain – LARISSA
The growing world population and diminishing natural resources to feed it require adopting ICT technologies towards the achievement of the full sustainability of the agri-food sector. Lack of information, transparency and/or trust creates barriers among the actors of the agri-food chain, dispersed and unused data. The insufficient and ineffective adoption of technology is a major obstacle to achievement of resilient and sustainable agri-food systems, which, as multi-dimensional and complex system, should be treated in a holistic manner in order to come up with a long-lasting and win-win strategy that benefits all actors.
LARISSA software aims to optimize the overall agri-food process.
The work plan of the LARISSA Project has been designed to develop and demonstrate a resource allocation optimization system to be used throughout all stages of the agri-food-chains. The strategy proposed to achieve the main goals of the project is based on the completion of 7 work packages, in 36 months, by 5 partners.
Added value of transnational cooperation and geographical coverage
LARISSA consortium involves 5 partners from 4 countries with complementary expertise and infrastructures in the relevant areas. The knowledge base targeted in scope of the project will be established using data from the pilot regions in Turkey, Romania, Italy and Austria/Hungary, with well-defined land characteristics. LARISSA will be tested in these regions, with varying geographical locations, weather conditions and other spatial-temporal constraints.
